How to Read a Listing

Subscribers have access to our entire database of 20,000+ up-to-date global listings, including bars, clubs, cafes, restaurants, bookstores, retail shops, helplines, websites, community centers, publications, sex clubs, cruisy areas, and more. Non-subscribers who are searching will get results featuring only businesses who advertise with Damron.

All listings that require a subscription to be seen will have (subscription listing) after the listing name.

If you subscribe, you'll be glad you did. We have thousands of additional listings we can't fit into our print guides, complete with email addresses and Web URLS.

Here are some helpful hints on how to decipher what our listings mean. Take a look at the Royal Palms listing featured here.

The Royal Palms Resort (*,M,NS,SW,GO) [Map] {feedback}

The gold star is a link to a Damron Accommodations Online webpage . Click it and you'll get all the information we have on this accommodation, including photos and an essay. You can also do this by clicking their name.

Some listings will also have a women's symbol before them. It looks like this Female Symbol. This means the business or group goes out of its way to make women feel welcome. To see it, you must choose "female" as your gender when you subscribe.

After the name, you'll see a list of Damron codes, in parentheses (*,M,NS,SW,GO). Just click on any code to learn what it stands for. For example, at the Royal Palms: Gay nonsmokers on the US Men's Olympic swimming team ready to shed their Speedos would have a wonderful time.

Next comes [Map]. Click here and the good folks at Yahoo Maps will show you just where to find the good folks at Royal Palms.

Sometimes the map gives only the city. This happens when businesses don't want their addresses listed or only give us an intersection to work from. Like the infamous 18th and Castro in San Francisco. It's the gayest intersection in the US, but Yahoo won't show you. We do have a fabulous book that will, called the Damron City Guide. Take a look here.

Have something to tell us about a listing? Click the {feedback} link. Your information will come directly to the editors at Damron, who take appropriate action, or forward it on to the businesses. If you're trying to make a reservation at the Royal Palms, this isn't the way to do it. Instead, follow the link for their email address info@royalpalms.com. If a listing has a website, as is the case with the Royal Palms, we also include an active link royalpalms.com.

Last but not least, the rest of the listing is filled with all the goodies we have on file about the business. Feel free to contact any business directly for further information, and be sure to tell them that Damron sent you.
